The "Golden Triangle" photo is one of my favorites <3 I'm sad we missed this neighborhood when we were in Antwerp for the day. We did love the train station.
Great post! I would love to visit, and maybe now I will. I'm not sure if it's the world's most beautiful train station, but it is a wild and crazy monument to architecture. Thanks.
We stayed near this neighborhood, too and enjoyed the wonderful architecture. At one house, there was a “man in a white suit” on the balcony. It took us awhile to be sure it was a statue. Is it still there?
PS: I’m always fascinated by stained glass, as I work in almost all phases of the industry for two decades. Even stained glass painting in the traditional style you see in European churches. Oddly, a lot of our work went to Japan, where European style weddings were a big thing for a while, and loads of churches wanted stained glass.
Gorgeous photos! I’d never heard of this fabulous architectural heritage either. Thanks so much for sharing it. Amazing photos!
I think a strong contender for most beautiful stations is the Moscow subway. I haven’t been myself, but I had friends go there who were completely blown away. There are tons of photos online. But it’s station after station of incredible architecture, even rows of backlit stained glass windows.
I’d love to do a post myself on it, but I could only use others photos, which are often uncredited. I’ve gone to it virtually so many times I feel as though I’d actually been!
Thanks again for the fantastic slice of Antwerp. I always look forward to your posts, you truly are going places!
The "Art Nouveau" Neighborhood in Antwerp, Belgium, Should be More Famous Than it Is
