Your description of the drop-off from the cliff to the sea spurred a memory so intense, I didn't even notice that beautiful turquoise hue in the surf until I READ your description of that. Yes, stunning. The photo captured it perfectly. Now if I can only rein in my monkey brain to concentrate on looking at a picture!!! and seeing what's there. Thank you for this, Michael.

This walk sounds fantastic! And I'm also like you, get me OUT of the HOUSE.

I was pretty happy with it. And turns out there a lot of folks who need to get out like me. And here I was thinking I was kind of a crazy person. Well, I suppose I still am...

Sounds like a spectacular walk. I love to get (almost) lost in the Appalachians or on the Lake Superior shore.

Thanks for the detailed description of your adventure! A good friend says, "Don't let the weatherman tell you what to do!" We've had many adventures that started out in rain (but be prepared.) Getting outside every day is my mental health mantra.

A tip: Always end a hike where you know you can get home. Have the Uber take you to the far end and walk back to civilization. I have learned about dead car batteries in the woods the hard way.

Now a warning! LOL. Yes, I clearly should've started at the opposite end. But I thought it was a big park with lots of traffic!

Thanks! And thankfully, I like walking so much that my feet are pretty tough and able to handle even unexpectedly long walks...

I'm like you and need to get moving at least once per day. Knowing that, I'd say venturing out is always smart -- conditions be damned.

That is pretty much mantra. Which I guess I made pretty obvious! LOL.

I’m with you in spirit alone there, my dear. The walk back would have done me in. But for such great photos - worth it.

But the weather? I’ll take a gray, cloudy, even rainy day any day over the endless same same sunny and hot stuff we get in SoCal most of the year. I live for winter. I should live in Seattle, been there, lived there, loved it. Just got stuck here.

Awesome that you got to Australia. Good job, well done. I’m loving your photos of the world! Thank you! ☺️

I loved Seattle for thirty years until the rain finally did me in. I'm happy to visit but wouldn't live there again but wish you could. Thanks for the kind words about the photos. It actually means a lot to me to hear that!

ALL the photos are stunning! I'm normally like you in needing the sunny blue weather for fun and beautiful photos. My bf is like you in that he must be walked, at a brisk pace, or he goes batty, so he would have happily done all of this and called it smart. I would have held out for better weather and felt guilty while he left without me. Or I would have forced myself to go along, been so grateful for the photos, cursed the long walk back at the end of the day in bad weather, but also felt grateful for the exercise. Not that anyone wants to know this. But just so you know ... I think we are all brilliant on this one.

I'm similar, always have to get my walk in. Weather is just something that affects how I dress, because with the right clothes you can handle almost anything. And stormy weather has its own beauty.

An exception is thunderstorms. I would absolutely not venture out in them, or in a good chance of them.

LOVE that shot of the booming surf!

You are absolutely right about the beauty of stormy weather. Talk about something that really makes you feel like part of nature!

And, yes, about thunderstorms. If there had been lightning, I never would've ventured up there.

The question is how many “genius” moments does it take to overcome the “dumb” moments.

Sounds like a great experience! One that offered both positive and negative effects with a sprinkle of humor. Can't do better than that for a truly human endeavor.
