Cambodia is indeed an amazing place to visit. I also visited the Angkor Wat complex back in 2023 and was in awe of it. It's a shame that tourism is down there so sharply this year. I was in Phnom Penh for a few weeks back in February and loved it, my second time there. For anyone who is on the fence about going to Cambodia, you really should go. It's safe and affordable, the people are truly friendly and welcoming, and the new airports in both Phnom Penh and Siem Reap are beautiful and a testament to how this country is developing. Plus, you will be helping out the local economy and the wonderful people. Bonus: if you're from the US, there's no money conversion issues...they use the US dollar.
Of the 80 countries I've been to, Cambodia is in a league of its own.
It's not necessarily the most beautiful, nor does it have the best food... but the resilience of its people is something far more impactful. I've been lucky enough to build relationships with locals who have shown me the true meaning of community and perseverance.
Thank you for wanting to inspire others to visit. It's a place I'll never stop returning to.
Thanks for writing this, especially now when they need it most. Cambodia (and Vietnam) have been at the top of my list for years, but I refuse to go without 2 to 3 weeks to do it right. And you’re probably all too familiar with how stingy PTO is in the U.S. Hoping to make it there within the next few years. Thank you for sharing your memories and these beautiful photos.
Totally agree. Loved my 3 days in Siem Reap this past February. The new airport is very nice. Our plane was the ONLY ONE at the new terminal. Lodging and food were wonderful and the people were super nice. We flew in from Bangkok and departed to Saigon.

My pleasure, Brandi. And it's smart to go when you have enough time to do it right!

The ONLY plane? That's so sad….
