My mom went here in the 70s when she quit her job to backpack alone in Europe. To this day she still speaks about it and tells me I need to go. She even showed me a flier from the sculpture park that she still has! This feels like a sign from the universe to finally plan the trip!

I loved Vigeland. Did I tell you that when I posted the photos of the statues on Facebook, my post was removed because of vulgarity and nakedness? It was the craziest thing. I put little bikinis and speedos on them and posted it again and my post stayed up. Facebook is so weird sometimes. Anyway, again your photos of the park are amazing.

Great photos. Looks like a fascinating sculpture park. One of the walking workouts on my treadmill subscription is a tour of this park. Had never heard of it before that, fascinating.

All I can think of is historian Mary Beard, in her documentary on Ancient Rome, wandering the streets of Pompeii, and saying "Willies! Willies everywhere!"

🤣🤣🤣 All I can say is that there were lots of everything everywhere!

But it was all artistically justified. 😂

What a fascinating park indeed! Thank you for taking me there. But I also feel I need to return to Oslo and see this for myself.

Wonderful article capturing the essence of the park Vigeland created. I spent many reflective hours there when I lived in Norway’s capital.

My favorite park in the world. When I lived in Oslo, we used to have picnics there until all hours under the midnight sun. Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos and triggering those memories.

So happy to confirm what a fantastic place this is. Well worth the trip to Oslo just to see it. There is an easy bus ride from the port if you arrive by cruise ship. Great pictures! Looks like you had great weather!

I visited Frogner Park at the very end of my first trip to Europe in 1993, exhausted after backpacking for weeks. And yet Vigeland's sculptures became one of my most treasured memories. I love this place! My parents visited years later, and knowing how much it had affected and moved me, gifted me a souvenir photo book of the place. Thanks for the reminder of what a wonderful park it is.

I've been here! I still remember it, even though it was 25 years ago.

We went just before boarding a cruise around the fjords of Norway.

It's an amazing park. The cruise was out of this world too.

Norway's scenery is spectacular, full of mountains and waterfalls.

I felt like I was on an epic film set.
