I want to say how much I enjoy reading your writing. I am now working as a travel designer, builiding global itineraries, and your posts give me inspiration. I love hearing about your travels. Have fun!
I much prefer places that aren't heavily touristed. I'm glad to have been able to visit cities such as Paris and Rome, but will take somewhere such as Tbilisi Georgia, which few people have even heard of, over either of them any day. I was able to work in the country of Georgia for a year and think it's one of the best kept secrets for travel destinations.
Totally TOTALLY agree. Loved Georgia and Tbilisi. Almost included Vake Park in this article, with that fabulous -- MASSIVE! -- Soviet-era sculpture/fountain (now abandoned) but I couldn't find a picture that did it justice.
Great article as usual. I think the same is true of film and music. So many people don't realize that the number of films playing in chain theaters every year is a fraction of the number of films made. And some of the ones that don't get big distributors are far better, in my opinion, than the blockbusters.
Oh that is a very very good point. And sometimes those "little" movies and songs break out, but most of the time, they don't. T'was always thus, I suppose.
I have been thinking about this so much lately, specially this past year since we specifically focused on traveling to areas of the world we knew little about (the Caucasus and the Balkans for example). As a Venezuelan (married to a Mexican) I have always known there are lots of incredible places not in the typical tourist routes, but it has still been surprising to keep running into them everywhere. The world is truly *full* of wanders. Lake Ohrid was definitely one of those places! I am glad you two were able to make it to Chiang Rai and enjoyed it, I loved it there!
Just chilling. You end up in the basement where the torture took place, see the cells, then leave in a hallway that is simply a series of photos with the torturers and their names. And they all look unbelievably normal, which is absolutely the point.
Brent, Michael, you guys make it really difficult not to book a plane ticket.
Our work is done here.
VICTORY! LOL
IKR! I am nearly consumed with envy. Theirs seems like a fairytale life.

Why thank you! Very sweet of you to say. And we're definitely having fun.

Great article and so true. Thanks also was blown away by the White Temple in Thailand. It was gorgeous and I wished we had more time there.
Just absolutely surreal, isn't it? And the Cave of Art -- yikes!

We loved it, and are now in Chiang Mai, which we also love.
Such a wonderful thing to discover about the world, isn't it?
Great article! Can’t believe I missed the museum of terror in Budapest!?!? Guess I’ll have to go back based on your review.❤️

As someone who had never considered going to Romania, but just reserved a month in Brasov off your recommendation....yes.
Oh! lovely! Take the bus up to the ski resort (20 minutes) for fabulous hiking. But there are brown bears, so be cautious.
Yeaaaaa I don’t think I’ll go hiking alone for that reason 😅
LOL
The White Temple is truly impressive. Wow.
It IS! lol
Fantastic article! I can’t thank you two enough for sharing your travels with us.
It is truly our pleasure.
