I was born in October, but that’s not the only reason it’s my favorite month. I also love October because of Halloween, brilliant orange pumpkins, fresh crunchy apples, the crisp, cool days, and of course the gorgeous fall colors.
Here in Keszthely, Hungary, that’s meant discovering that it isn’t only oaks and maple leaves that turn brilliant shades of red and gold.
It’s also grape leaves!
Seriously, how beautiful are those leaves?
BTW, I’ve always loved that quote from Anne of Green Gables, which I’m totally confident enough in my masculinity to admit is one of my favorite childhood books.
Now excuse me while I go wrestle a bear!
